Tamper-resistant and specialty tip screwdrivers have tips that are only compatible with a specific type of indentation in the screwhead. The tip at the end of the screwdriver shaft is inserted into the indentation in the screwhead and the handle is turned to rotate the screw. These fastener types are often used in public areas where theft and vandalism may be a concern.

Torq-Set Screwdrivers
Torq-set screwdrivers look similar to a Phillips drive that has a cross with four arms except the lines are offset from each other so they do not align to form intersecting slots across the top of the fastener. The screwhead design makes it difficult to remove or tamper with the fastener without using the correct bit.
