Screwdrivers have a handle and a shaft end with tip to tighten and loosen a variety of screws. Hex screwdrivers have a tip that fits into an hexagonal (six-sided) shaped indentation in the screwhead while Phillips screwdrivers are used with fasteners having a Phillips (cross-shaped) head screw. Slotted screwdrivers fit screws with a slotted (single horizontal groove) fastener head and square screwdrivers fit square (Robertson) head screws.
