Nylon cam and groove fittings consist of a grooved male nipple (adapter) and a female cam (coupler or camlock) that tighten together to form a seal. Nylon couplings resist corrosion and changes in humidity, withstand higher temperatures than polypropylene, and won't scratch delicate surfaces. Nylon camlock couplings are interchangeable with both metal and plastic couplings, and can be used with water, coolants, and fuels.

Type C nylon cam and groove fittings include a female cam x hose shank (hose barb). Type C camlock fittings are most often matched with Type E adapters of the same size. They can also be used Type, A, E, and F adapters, and Type DP dust plugs. Nylon withstands higher temperatures than polypropylene, won't scratch delicate surfaces, and resists corrosion and changes in humidity. Type C nylon camlock couplings are used in food, pharmaceutical, and chemical processing.
