Steam system traps and vents, also known as steam system flow controls, remove air and water from hydronic heating systems to improve their efficiency and help prevent unsafe conditions. Steam traps purge air and condensate from the system and allow steam pressure to build correctly. Air release vents open to release air and other unwanted gases from hydronic systems and seal automatically once those gases are purged. Air separators remove air that is trapped in the fluid stream and allow it to be vented out of the system.
