Torque multipliers are used with a torque wrench to increase the amount of torque that is applied to a fastener. They use internal gears to multiply the amount of torque that can be applied without additional manual force. Torque multipliers eliminate the need for an extension handle or cheater bar on the torque wrench handle to increase the torque.

Handheld torque multipliers are for use with hand or nonimpact power tools and are used in combination with a torque wrench to increase torque. They have internal gears to multiply the amount of torque that can be applied to a fastener without additional manual force being applied. Multipliers are held between the socket end of the torque wrench and the fastener that needs tightening.

Mountable torque multipliers have mounting points so they can be attached to a surface for added stability.
