Open End Wrenches

Open end wrenches use their fixed, U-shaped opening to make contact with two sides of a fastener to turn it. They access fasteners from the top or side and slide their head into spaces where box wrenches won't fit.

Open end nonsparking wrenches won’t spark during use, making them suitable for use in flammable environments. The wrench head on one end of the handle allows access to fasteners from the top and side compared to box wrenches that can only access a fastener from the top. The opposite end allows for a secure grip on the full length of the handle. These wrenches contain no iron, are nonmagnetic, and are suitable for use with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment. These single end wrenches are SAE (inch) size for use on one specific size fastener.
