Box End Wrenches

Box-end wrenches have an enclosed head end that fits around and grips the entire head of the fastener. They provide more contact to the fastener than an open-end wrench and can apply more torque since the box end is less likely to slip off the fastener compared to an open-end wrench.

Box-end wrench leverage wrenches allow the attachment of an extension handle for hard-to-reach fasteners and provide additional torque to tighten fasteners more snugly. These single-end wrenches are SAE (inch) size for use on one specific size fastener. The enclosed head provides more contact to the fastener and allows more torque than an open-end wrench since the box end is less likely to slip off the fastener.
