Bolt & Chain Cutters

Bolt and chain cutters generate crushing force at their jaws to cut bolts, padlocks, chain, wire mesh, and other items. Also called bolt croppers, their handles swing out on a hinge to open the jaws and swing in to close the jaws. A second hinge behind the jaws concentrates leverage from the handles and squeezes the jaws together to press them through the material being cut.

Also called flush cutters, their head angles up from the handles and has a single-side joint bar to leave the other side flat.
