Jaw Pullers & Sets

Available93 products
Jaw pullers grip components with their claw and unseat them from shafts or recesses. Also known as gear pullers, they draw their jaws back along a center bolt to pull off gears, bearings, pulleys, and other press-fit parts. They apply consistent pulling pressure to prevent damage to the part, the shaft, or the recess. A puller should have enough reach to grip the base of the component being pulled, enough spread to accommodate the width of the component, and enough capacity to exert the necessary pulling force. Jaw pullers and sets are commonly used during maintenance and repair of motors, fans, conveyors, vehicles, construction equipment, and more.

External-Grip Jaw Pullers

External-Grip Jaw Pullers
External-grip pullers fit their jaws around a component to pull it from the outside. They are used for bearings and other parts that are mounted on a shaft. Also known as floating jaw pullers, their jaws float to assist with centering the puller on the shaft. They are less bulky to fit into tighter spots than caged-jaw pullers, but their floating jaws may slip off unless they are locked or secured in place.

Caged External-Grip Jaw Pullers

Caged External-Grip Jaw Pullers
The cage of these external-grip jaw pullers retains the jaws to lock them onto a component and prevent them from slipping off or snapping back. Also known as fixed or captured jaw pullers, they allow one person to engage the jaws and make the pull. They are ideal for overhead pulling applications where it would be difficult to position and secure floating jaws. These external-grip pullers fit their jaws around a component to pull it from the outside. They are used for bearings and other parts that are mounted on a shaft.

Reversible Jaw Pullers

Reversible Jaw Pullers
Reversible jaw pullers allow flipping the jaws to make external and internal pulls. For external pulls to remove parts from a shaft, the jaws are set with tips inward to fit around components and pull them from the outside. For internal pulls to remove parts from holes or recesses, the jaws are set with tips outward to fit into components and pull them from the inside.

Spring-Loaded Reversible Jaw Pullers

Spring-Loaded Reversible Jaw Pullers
Spring-loaded jaw pullers maintain tension in their jaws, pressing them against a component to prevent them from falling open and slipping off. The spring tension is adjustable to change the pressure applied by the jaws. These pullers permit one person to engage the jaws and make the pull. They are ideal for overhead pulling applications where it would be difficult to position and secure floating jaws. The jaws are reversible to make external and internal pulls. For external pulls to remove parts from a shaft, the jaws are set with tips inward to fit around components and pull them from the outside. For internal pulls to remove parts from holes or recesses, the jaws are set with tips outward to fit into components and pull them from the inside.

Reversible Jaw Pullers for Close Quarters

Reversible Jaw Pullers for Close Quarters
The straight, slim jaws of close-quarters jaw pullers reach into tight spaces where standard jaws won't fit. Also known as straight jaw pullers, their jaws are reversible to make external and internal pulls. For external pulls to remove parts from a shaft, the jaws are set with tips inward to fit around components and pull them from the outside. For internal pulls to remove parts from holes or recesses, the jaws are set with tips outward to fit into components and pull them from the inside.

Fan Hub Pullers

Fan Hub Pullers
Fan hub pullers remove fan impellers and blower wheels from a motor shaft, grabbing them by the hub to prevent damage to blades. They use interchangeable collar adapters that match different hub diameters. The adapters lock onto the hub and provide a groove for the puller jaws to grip for a secure hold when making the pull. Fan hub pullers are commonly used on converting cabinet fans for wind turbines as well as industrial, appliance, and automotive fans and blowers. They allow access to make repairs on fan and blower motors without having to pull the entire unit.
