Diagonal-Cutting Pliers
Diagonal-cutting pliers trim wire and zip ties, shear through thin screws and nails, and nip and strip wire jackets. Also known as wire cutters, their blade-like cutting edges are offset from the handles to cut closely against surfaces. They concentrate leverage in their short jaws to maximize cutting force. General purpose diagonal-cutting pliers are used for everyday applications where special environment pliers aren't required. Insulated diagonal-cutting pliers have non-conductive handle grips to protect against electrical shock when working near electrical components and energized equipment. Non-sparking diagonal-cutting pliers resist creating sparks and reduce the risk of ignition when working in areas where combustible dust or flammable liquids, gas, or vapors are present.
