Pipe shut-off tools temporarily stop flow in pipes when fixing leaks or adding fittings. They are commonly used when flow can't be completely stopped by a shut-off valve.

Internal Pipe Shut-Off Tools
Internal shut-off tools insert a plug into pipe to form a temporary seal. They accept different plug sizes to fit the pipe size. Internal tools are used when the end of pipe is exposed, such as when installing new fittings.

External Pipe Shut-Off Tools
External shut-off tools compress pipe from the outside and pinch it closed to form a temporary crimp. Copper pipe can be reshaped and flexible plastic pipe regains its shape to restore flow after the tools are released. Also known as pipe squeeze off tools, they are commonly used when making repairs along a length of pipe.
