Order LookupSoft-Face Split-Head Hammers & Replacement Tips
Available5 products
Soft-face split-head hammers have a removable striking face or tip on each end that allows for changing face materials to suit an application, fitting a different material on each end for greater versatility, and replacing worn faces to restore function. Their head is light with softer face materials that strike more gently than standard steel-face hammers. They lessen the impact of blows to minimize marring of surfaces, especially those prone to damage.
Tip Material
Plastic-Tip Hammers
Plastic tips strike a focused blow for hard and soft metal, wood, plastic, and leather. They are commonly used to tap finished parts into place, flatten metal for jewelry making, and hammer seams in leatherworking.

Plastic-Tip & Rubber-Tip Hammers
These hammers have a plastic tip on one end and a rubber tip on the other end. The plastic tip strikes a focused blow for hard and soft metal, wood, plastic, and leather. Plastic tips are commonly used to tap finished parts into place, flatten metal for jewelry making, and hammer seams in leatherworking. The rubber tip delivers a forceful yet cushioned blow to position stone tiles, set wooden boards and flooring, tap glass into position, and stamp leather. Rubber tips can be harder to control than other tip materials since they are more prone to bouncing back when delivering strong blows.
