Hammer handles replace broken or loose handles and allow switching to different handle materials or lengths to suit an application. These handles fit hammer heads of a specific brand, eye shape, and eye size.

Hammer wedges secure wooden handles to matching hammer heads. They create pressure on the hammer eye (the hole where the handle inserts into the head) to keep the head from falling off of the handle. Wedges are used only with wooden handles.
