Material-Removing Files for Wood

Rows of coarse, raised teeth on these files cut into and shave off wood to profile it to the desired shape. Also known as woodworking files, they make rough cuts to remove large amounts of material from wood workpieces before finishing them with a finer file and sandpaper. They abrade material more aggressively than Swiss-pattern files used for precision filing and finer finishes.
