Knife-edge files abrade material in corners, narrow slots, and tight angles. Their thin edges file keyways, fastener threads, and V-grooves. Tool-and-die makers and jewelers use knife files on workpieces with very acute angles.
Double-Cut Knife Files
Double-cut teeth on the faces of these knife files make aggressive cuts. Each face has two crisscrossing sets of diagonal rows of teeth that slant in opposite directions to remove material more quickly and leave a rougher finish than single-cut teeth.
