These crimpers seat ferrules (end sleeves) onto wire, retaining the wire within the ferrule to prevent loose strands and make a solid connection to a terminal block. Slots or dies in the crimper jaws are shaped to cradle ferrules and press them onto wire for a tight bond.

The jaws of these crimpers automatically adjust to fit the ferrule and create a firm crimp. Their controlled-cycle mechanism ratchets the jaws, crimping to a preset depth and applying pressure evenly for repeatable results without overcrimping. Also known as full-cycle auto-adjusting crimpers, they release the jaws after each crimping cycle. They form stronger, more uniform crimps than crimping pliers.
