Rebar corrosion locators pinpoint corroded reinforcement bars within concrete that need strengthening or replacement. When pressed against concrete, these locators sense electric currents relased by chloride-induced corrosion. Corrosion detection protects against structural failure without disturbing the sections that are still structurally sound. These detectors can also note areas of corrosion on pavement and bridge decks.
