Foam Personal Flotation Devices
Personal flotation devices, also known as life jackets, are wearable and filled with buoyant foam to help keep people afloat in water.
USCG Type: Type III
Type III provide enough flotation to hold a conscious person in a safe orientation. They will not turn the wearer face up in the event of a loss of consciousness. They are commonly used for calm water activities where rescue is quickly available.

Reflective Foam Personal Flotation Devices
Reflective foam personal flotation devices (PFDs), also called reflective foam life jackets, include highly reflective materials that help rescuers locate survivors in dark or low-light conditions, increasing their odds of survival.
USCG Type: Type I
Type I have the highest buoyancy of all flotation devices. When worn correctly, they are designed to turn an unconscious person from a face-down position to a vertical or slightly reclined position. This increases the chance of survival in the event of unconsciousness during water-related activities. They are commonly used for remote or rough water applications where rescue may not be immediately available.
