They are made of breathable nonwoven fabric and have an elastic band to keep them in place. Veils cover the nose and mouth and tuck into a hood or coverall to keep the environment clean. They are not intended to provide respiratory protection. Cleanroom garments are assigned a cleanroom class to indicate which cleanrooms they can be used in. Lower classes (ISO 1) indicate a cleaner garment than higher classes (ISO 9).
