Cleanroom shoe and boot covers are made of low-shedding material to keep environments clean. They are worn over personal footwear to prevent workers from contaminating the environment and to protect footwear from incidental contact with hazardous and nonhazardous substances. Cleanroom garments are assigned a cleanroom class to indicate which cleanrooms they can be used in. Lower classes (ISO 1) indicate a cleaner garment than higher classes (ISO 9).
