Hard hat tethers attach the hard hat to the worker's clothing or harness to reduce the risk that a hard hat that falls from a worker's head becomes a falling object hazard for workers below. Sometimes called hard hat lanyards, these tethers have a buckle or clamp that can be attached and removed as needed. They are used by workers who work at heights.
