Chemical- & Heat-Resistant Gloves

Gloves that are chemical- and heat-resistant are worn when transferring chemicals, working on hot pumps and valves, and when working with hot or hazardous chemicals. Chemical-resistant gloves are made of rubber polymers that withstand exposure to acids, bases, solvents, and other chemicals. Heat-rated gloves have been tested to CE EN 407 or ANSI standards. The rating determines the temperature at which a worker will begin to feel a burn when handling an item. The time to feel a burn is affected by temperature, object weight, and length of time the object is held. Higher numbers (5) indicate that the glove provides greater protection than lower numbers (1). Gloves with higher levels of protection are generally thicker than gloves with lower levels of protection. Thinner gloves have a better sense of touch and less chemical resistance than thicker gloves.

These chemical-resistant and CE-rated heat-resistant gloves are made of neoprene and have a supported cotton liner. Neoprene gloves are flexible, have a high tensile strength, and are resistant to a broad range of oils, acids, alcohols, fats, ketones, caustics, solvents, greases, and petrochemicals. Cotton glove liners absorb moisture and perspiration to keep hands drier longer than unlined gloves. Cotton is more comfortable and breathable than synthetic and blended materials. Supported gloves incorporate the liner into the glove for better durability over unsupported gloves, making them a good choice for tasks when gloves are fully submerged in liquid. Chemical-resistant gloves withstand exposure to acids, bases, solvents, and other chemicals. CE heat-rated gloves have been tested to EN 407 standards to protect hands when handling hot objects. Higher numbers indicate the glove can withstand higher temperatures before the inner side of the glove becomes warmer.
