Short-shank fire hydrant couplings install inside fire hoses to connect them to pipe or equipment. They are suitable for low-pressure firefighting applications, such as light-duty suction or low-pressure discharge of water and other liquids. They are more economical than cam-lock fittings, but take more time to connect or remove from hoses.
