Solid bore fire hose nozzles create a single stream of water without the ability to adjust water flow or pattern. Solid bore nozzles generally have a longer water stream than other nozzles.

Adjustable gallonage fire hose nozzles allow the firefighter operating the hose to directly control the amount of water coming out of the nozzle.

Single gallonage fire hose nozzles don't allow water flow to be adjusted at the nozzle. Water flow is only adjustable at the source.

Constant pressure fire hose nozzles maintain a consistent spray pattern as water pressure within the hose fluctuates. Constant pressure nozzles sometimes produce lower water flows than other nozzles.

Gaskets install in solid bore nozzles to create a watertight seal that prevents leakage.
