Pole Climbers & Components

Available24 products
Pole climbers are worn on the legs and feet and are used together with lineman belts, pole-climbing straps, and positioning lanyards to help workers climb up and down utility poles during repair and maintenance tasks. They have a spike, called a gaff, near the ankle that digs into a utility pole to provide support for a worker while climbing, descending, or positioning him or herself on the pole. Accessories such as replacement gaffs and climbing pads can be used to replace worn parts on pole climbers, keep them in good working condition, or improve the wearer's comfort during use.

Pole-Climber Kits
Pole-climber kits include pole climbers and other components that workers need for ascending and descending a utility pole. Kits save time compared to purchasing the components separately. Gaff Guards

Gaff Guards
Gaff guards cover the gaffs (or spikes) on pole climbers to protect the sharp tips of the gaffs from damage when they're not being used for climbing. The guards are placed on the gaffs when a climber is walking around on the ground or the gaffs are being stored. In addition to keeping the gaffs sharp, the guards also help prevent the gaffs from damaging floors as the wearer walks around.

Pole-Climber Ankle Straps

Pole-Climber Ankle Straps
Ankle straps keep pole climbers in place on the worker's foot. They wrap around the ankle and attach to the strap attachment ring on the pole climber. These ankle straps can replace a damaged or worn strap on a pole climber or to swap out the current straps for straps of a different size.

Gaff Gauges

Gaff Gauges
Gaff gauges measure the width, thickness, and point profile of a pole climber's gaffs. These handheld tools quickly assess wear to determine if gaffs are sharp enough to penetrate wooden poles without breaking, cutting out, or slipping when supporting a person's body weight in the field.
