Safety showers flush hazardous substances from a worker's body. Sometimes called drench showers, they install in labs, manufacturing facilities, and other areas where chemicals can come into contact with workers. Showers connect to a plumbed water supply to provide a continuous stream of water for the required duration. These ANSI-compliant showers have a handle that activates water flow and stays on for at least 15 minutes or until deactivated. The ANSI/ISEA Z358.1 standard meets OSHA requirements for safety showers and eyewash stations when they're used as an integral part of a fully compliant installation and inspection plan.
