Oldham couplings positively connect motor and equipment shafts to precisely transmit electrically isolated power. They are suitable for use in high parallel misalignment applications as well as sensitive machinery where zero backlash and electrical current isolation are required, such as stepper motor, servo motor, and automation applications. A complete coupling is made up of two coupling hubs and one compatible coupling disc.
Oldham Coupling Discs
Oldham coupling discs feature slots on each side which accept the tenons from compatible hubs to complete the coupling system. The discs break away cleanly when maximum torque is exceeded, acting as a mechanical fuse to protect sensitive equipment.
