Linear plain and sleeve bearings have smooth, cylindrical-shaped interiors that grip linear shafts with more contact surface area than ball or roller bearings for better stability, load distribution, and a quieter operation. Also known as plain bushing bearings, they have an embedded, self-applying solid lubricant for corrosive or extreme conditions free of toxic exposures or for applications where access is limited. With no moving parts, they do not require ongoing lubrication or maintenance and outlast ball bearings in short-stroke applications.

Linear sleeve bearings have compact bodies with no moving parts. They are self-lubricating and fit around linear shafts to facilitate sliding, rotating, and oscillating movement.
