Ratchet Gears & Pawls

Available45 products

Ratchet gears and pawls allow gear systems to rotate in one direction but prevent them from moving backward. Typical uses include intermittent motion applications, such as stamping dies, lifting equipment, turnstiles, and hand tools. Ratchets have disc-shaped bodies and asymmetrical teeth that project outward from their axis. Pawls are levers that rest on the inside of a gear's teeth to prevent backward movement.

These ratchets have a metric pitch and are used in conjunction with pawls. Hubless ratchets have a hole through their center axis to mount them on shafts, hubs, and cluster gears. They're more compact and weigh less than ratchets with hubs.
