The spherical rollers in these pillow block bearings have a slight curvature in their profile which offers more resistance to misalignment between the shaft and the bearing housing. The base of the bearing mounts to a surface that runs parallel to the shaft that the bearing holds. Pillow block bearings allow the shaft to rotate smoothly while the base supports the load.
Fixed Pillow Block Spherical Roller Bearings
The inner race of these fixed pillow block spherical roller bearings clamps to the shaft and holds in a fixed position. They do not expand axially with the shaft due to conditions such as heat. These bearings handle both radial and axial loads.

Expansion Pillow Block Spherical Roller Bearings
These pillow block spherical roller bearings handle thermal expansion of the shaft and support radial loads only.
