Combination bearings handle radial and axial loads by combining a needle roller bearing with an angular contact ball bearing or a thrust ball bearing that handles axial loads. They are suitable in installations where multiple bearings take up too much space, or the axial loads and speeds are too high.
Combination Needle Roller & Angular Contact Ball Bearings
These combination bearings handle axial loads in both directions so that the shaft can be located in either direction. They consist of a needle roller bearing that supports the radial load, and an angular contact ball bearing that supports the axial load.

Combination Needle Roller & Thrust Ball Bearings
These combination bearings handle axial loads in one direction so that the shaft must be located in one direction. They consist of a needle roller bearing that supports the radial load, and a thrust ball bearing that supports the axial load. The thrust ball bearing consists of a ball and cage assembly, allowing the components of the combination bearing to be mounted separately.
