Air-Powered Impact Wrenches

Available85 products

Air-powered impact wrenches connect to a pressurized air supply to drive and remove fasteners in high-volume, high-torque applications, such as assembly and automotive work. Impact wrenches combine a hammer-like impact force with the rotational force of a wrench to install or remove stubborn or stuck fasteners. They have a square drive and use impact-rated sockets. Air-powered tools are lighter and have fewer moving parts than corded and cordless tools, making them a good choice for extended run times when workers handle the tools for long periods of time.

Pistol-Grip Air-Powered Impact Wrenches with Standard Anvils

Pistol-Grip Air-Powered Impact Wrenches with Standard Anvils

These pistol-grip air-powered impact wrenches have a square drive and a standard anvil length. They are full-size impact wrenches with high torque output. The pistol grip has a trigger that is pressed to activate the wrench. Pistol grips provide ergonomic handling when working on vertical surfaces from the user's waist to chest, horizontal surfaces at mid-thigh or lower, and horizontal surfaces directly overhead.

Compact Pistol-Grip Impact Wrenches

Compact Pistol-Grip Impact Wrenches

Compact pistol-grip air-powered impact wrenches (sometimes called stubby wrenches) have a shorter front-to-back length than standard pistol-grip impact wrenches, allowing for access to tight spaces. They have higher torque and larger drive sizes than inline impact wrenches, but often have lower torque than full-size tools. The pistol grip has a trigger that is pressed to activate the wrench. Pistol grips provide ergonomic handling when working on vertical surfaces from the user's waist to chest, horizontal surfaces at mid-thigh or lower, and horizontal surfaces directly overhead.

Inline Air-Powered Impact Wrenches

Inline Air-Powered Impact Wrenches

Air-powered inline impact wrenches (sometimes called butterfly wrenches) are compact tools with low torque and a smaller drive than pistol grip, D-handle, and right-angle impact wrenches, making them a good choice for use in tight or recessed spaces when high torque is not required. They are held in the palm of the hand and have a paddle switch to change drive direction without removing the tool from the fastener.

Right-Angle Air-Powered Impact Wrenches

Right-Angle Air-Powered Impact Wrenches

These right-angle air-powered impact wrenches have a chuck that is oriented 90° to the tool body. The head is similar to a ratchet head, providing a slim profile and reducing the need for extensions and swivel sockets when using the tool in tight spaces. These tools are commonly used in assembly and construction tasks. Right-angle impact wrenches produce less torque than pistol-grip and D-handle impact wrenches.

Pistol-Grip Air-Powered Impact Wrenches with Extended Anvils

Pistol-Grip Air-Powered Impact Wrenches with Extended Anvils

These pistol-grip air-powered impact wrenches have a square drive and an extended anvil length to reach recessed spaces like those found on wheels with recessed hubs. They are full-size impact wrenches with high torque output. The pistol grip has a trigger that is pressed to activate the wrench. Pistol grips provide ergonomic handling when working on vertical surfaces from the user's waist to chest, horizontal surfaces at mid-thigh or lower, or horizontal surfaces directly overhead.

D-Handle Air-Powered Impact Wrenches with Extended Anvils

D-Handle Air-Powered Impact Wrenches with Extended Anvils

These air-powered impact wrenches have an extended length anvil and a D-handle to increase stability. The extended length anvil reaches recessed spaces like those found on large truck wheels with recessed hubs. D-handle impact wrenches are large tools that are meant to be held with both hands. They place the user's hands directly in line with the tool's body to allow maximum control and pressure application. Tools with an additional side or top handle provide additional leverage during heavy-duty applications.

ATEX-Certified Impact Wrenches for Use in Hazardous Locations

ATEX-Certified Impact Wrenches for Use in Hazardous Locations

These air-powered impact wrenches are ATEX-certified for use in hazardous locations with potentially explosive atmospheres. ATEX-certified tools minimize sparking and limit the buildup of static charge in environments where airborne dust and vapors are present, such as oil rigs, chemical refineries, and drilling and mining operations. They are typically used with nonsparking sockets.
