Air-Powered Hacksaws
Available1 product
Air-powered hacksaws (sometimes called air hacksaws or pneumatic hacksaws) are powered by a pressurized air supply to cut pipe, steel, cast iron, and other hard materials. The straight blade is attached inline with the tool and moves back and forth across the workpiece to make the cut. Power hacksaws have a slower speed and longer stroke length than reciprocating saws, which slows cutting speed but leaves a better edge. Cutting fluid can be used to lubricate and cool the blade when cutting metal to extend the life of the blade. Air-powered tools are used for tasks that require extended run times. They have fewer moving parts and require less maintenance than corded tools. They are often used where access to a wired power source is unavailable or where sparking is a concern.
