Air-Powered Cut-Off Tools

Air-powered cut-off tools are dedicated, compact cutting tools that rotate abrasive discs or wheels to cut metal and other materials. They make cleaner cuts than angle grinders and are smaller to fit into tighter spaces. They set their wheel in a stable cutting position, so they don't have to be turned on their side and balanced like an angle grinder to make cuts. Cut-off tools are equipped with a wheel guard that deflects sparks, debris, and shattered wheel fragments away from the user. These tools run on compressed air and are typically lighter than corded cut-off tools to help reduce operator fatigue during extended use. They contain few moving parts, so they tend to run cool and have a long lifespan.
Extended Reach Parallel Mount Air-Powered Cut-Off Tools
The long body of these cut-off tools extends their reach beyond 11" to fit into recesses and between two surfaces. They position cut-off wheels below the tool head with the cutting edge extending inline with the tool body to make cuts from the front or side of the tool. Extended-reach cut-off tools require a two-handed grip with one hand at the base of the body and the other hand closer to the wheel.

Standard Reach Perpendicular Mount Air-Powered Cut-Off Tools
These tools position cut-off wheels at the front of the tool with the cutting edge set perpendicular to the body to cut off lengths of pipe and other materials. Their standard-length body gives them a 6" to 11" reach and allows for a one-handed grip to control the tool.

These tools position cut-off wheels on the side of the tool with the cutting edge at a right angle to the body to cut through long workpieces and around larger pipes. They are commonly used to cut metal and can also be fitted with diamond wheels to cut masonry and tile. Their standard-length body gives them a 6" to 11" reach and allows for a one-handed grip to control the tool.
