Breather vents, mufflers, and silencers thread into the vent and exhaust ports of pneumatic equipment such as air compressors and air tools. Breather vents prevent unexpected pressure or vacuum changes in closed component chambers by allowing the exchange of air inside the chamber with the atmosphere. Mufflers and silencers reduce the noise from the release of pressurized air from pneumatic equipment, and mist eliminators prevent oil mist from being exhausted into the atmosphere. These devices also prevent large particles of dust or other contaminants from entering the equipment through the port.
