Main Line Compressed Air Filters

Main line air filters install into the primary air supply line after the air compressor, and before or after other air treatment equipment such as air dryers and aftercoolers. Particulate filters trap larger-sized particles of water and dirt while coalescing filters trap oil, and activated carbon filters trap oil vapor and odor. The size of particulate trapped in a filter is measured in microns which is specified in the filter rating.

Activated carbon filters remove oil vapor and odors from compressed air in a supply line. They are used in applications that require the highest air quality for critical applications such as instrumentation, pharmaceutical production, and food packaging. A particulate filter is often installed upstream from this filter to remove larger particles and prevent premature wear on these more specialized filters.
