Wash Fountains

Wash fountains are large, circular or semicircular wash basins that allow several people to simultaneously wash their hands. Water spray is activated by foot controls, touchless sensors, or push buttons, which shut off automatically. Wash fountains provide more hand washing stations per square foot than conventional lavatory sinks. Wash fountains can accommodate more users in high-traffic areas, such as restrooms in schools, stadiums, and manufacturing facilities. Some wash fountains are designed to withstand vandalism and being used for self-harm, a design specification for sinks in behavioral or mental health facilities where antitampering or security products are required.

Touchless wash fountains are sensor-activated fountains that automatically deliver and stop water for hand washing by multiple users. Hands-free operation reduces the spread of disease-causing microorganisms that accumulate on faucet handles or buttons. Motion-activated, touchless fountains are found in high-volume restrooms in arenas, airports, and universities.
