Globe valves regulate and drain corrosive or thick liquids without clogging. They have hand wheels and threaded stems that control a disc-shaped plug inside the valve to open or shut off flow.

Cast Iron is an alloy of iron and carbon, with additives such as silicon, manganese, sulphur, and phosphorus for corrosion resistance. It is not malleable, and can withstand high pressures. Globe valves are named for their spherical body shapes. Each features a hand wheel and threaded stem that causes a disc-shaped plug inside the valve to open or shut off the flow of fluid or steam.
