Faucet cartridges, stems, and valves control the flow, pressure, and temperature of water from a faucet spout. They are activated by a faucet's sensor or handle. These parts are not interchangeable between different faucet brands and typically fit specific series or models of a brand.

Faucet Cartridges & Cartridge Parts
Faucet cartridges control the flow of water from cartridge-style faucets. They seal and unseal water inlet ports to stop and start water flow and adjust pressure and temperature. Their cylindrical base has discs or openings that regulate flow as faucet handles are turned on and off. These cartridges are commonly used as replacement parts in leaking or dripping faucets.

Thermostatic Mixing Valves
Thermostatic mixing valves sense water temperatures and adjust the flow from hot and cold water lines to match the faucet settings. They help prevent scalding by maintaining a constant water temperature even as the water volume changes. They're typically found in faucets with separate water volume and temperature controls. These valves are used as replacements for valves that allow leaks from a spout and no longer control water temperature or volume.
