Walk-behind spreaders roll along flat or gently sloped terrain to evenly distribute ice melt, grass seed, fertilizers, and other granular substances. They have a hopper to hold bulk material for spreading across areas that don't require the larger-scale coverage of vehicle-mounted or tow-behind spreaders. Also known as push spreaders, they set their handle at a comfortable height for pushing while walking behind the spreader.
Salt & Ice Melt Spreaders
Salt and ice melt spreaders dispense de-icing pellets and granules onto walkways, driveways, and other paved areas. Their hopper resists rust to withstand exposure to corrosive salts. A grate inside the hopper sifts the material to prevent clogs and improve flow for uniform distribution.

Broadcast (also known as rotary) throws material in a circle for a wider area of coverage and faster dispersal than a drop spreader.
