Generator Transfer Switches

Generator transfer switches shift the source of electrical power from the grid to a generator for running equipment during outages. They allow the generator to supply power through an electrical panel rather than having to connect equipment separately to the generator. These transfer switches distribute power from the generator to manage electrical loads and prevent backfeeds that could cause electrical fires or shocks. Manual transfer switches require activating a toggle to change the power source. They are typically used with portable generators. Automatic transfer switches sense a utility power outage within seconds and immediately shift the electrical load to the generator to keep equipment running with minimal disruption. They are typically used with standby generators.
