Floor Locks
Available42 products
Floor locks keep carts, mobile racks, or other wheeled equipment stationary. They are an alternative to caster-mounted brakes. The locks are typically mounted between two swivel casters on carts with a single pair of swivel casters, or they are mounted on diagonal corners on carts with four swivel casters. The locks have a foot pedal that users step on to engage a spring-loaded brake pad that presses against the floor to create friction and prevent the caster wheels from moving. The extended height of the lock should exceed the mounting height of the casters it will be used with by 1/16" to 1/4".
General Purpose Floor Locks
General purpose floor locks are made from zinc-plated steel and have a top mounting plate for attaching the lock to carts and other equipment. They are suitable for use with light-duty to medium-duty casters.

Heavy-Duty Low-Profile Adjustable-Height Floor Locks
Heavy-duty low-profile adjustable-height floor locks have zinc-plated cast steel bodies and are stronger and more abrasion resistant than general purpose floor locks. They also have a lower profile than other styles of floor locks, which helps ensure sufficient ground clearance when the locks are used on low-profile carts. The locks' adjustable-height friction pads allow them to be used with casters in a range of heights. The height of the pads can be adjusted as the pads wear over time to help maintain proper locking and unlocking action. The bottoms of the friction pads have suction cups for increased grip. The locks have a top mounting plate for attaching them to carts and other equipment.

Heavy-Duty Adjustable-Height Floor Locks
Heavy-duty adjustable-height floor locks have cast steel or stainless steel bodies and provide more strength and abrasion resistance than general purpose floor locks. They have adjustable-height friction pads that allow them to be used with casters in a range of heights. The height of the pads can also be adjusted as the pads wear over time to help maintain proper locking and unlocking action. The bottoms of the friction pads have suction cups for increased grip. The locks have a top mounting plate for installing them on carts and other equipment.

Heavy-Duty Floor Locks
Heavy-duty floor locks have thicker steel bodies and plates, stronger pedals, and thicker friction pads than general purpose and abrasion-resistant nonmarking floor locks. They are made from steel with a black powder coating and have rubber friction pads. The locks have a top mounting plate for installing them on carts and other equipment.

Abrasion-Resistant Nonmarking Floor Locks
These floor locks have polyurethane friction pads that provide better abrasion resistance than rubber friction pads and will not mark floors. The polyurethane pads also can withstand exposure to moisture, chemicals, and oils. The locks have a top mounting plate for attaching the lock to carts and other equipment. They are made from zinc-plated steel and are suitable for use with light-duty to medium-duty casters.
