High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Available10 products
These high-performance spiral-flute taps can be used for threading multiple materials. They are harder and more wear-resistant than general purpose spiral-flute taps, and they provide better precision and accuracy than general purpose taps. The taps have spiral flutes that pull chips out and away from the hole as the tap moves into the hole to create threads, which helps prevent chips from packing in the hole. They create internal threads in blind holes and are installed into a toolholder on a machine such as a lathe or CNC machine to operate.

TiCN-Coated DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiCN-Coated DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiCN coating on these taps protects them from wear and is harder and more wear-resistant than a TiN coating. These taps meet DIN length standards and have a longer overall length than taps that meet ISO, ANSI, and JIS length standards. They also meet ANSI shank standards, which means they measure their shank diameter in inches and fit in standard tools used in the U.S.

Oversized Black-Oxide Finish Coolant-Through DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Oversized Black-Oxide Finish Coolant-Through DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
Oversized taps have a slightly larger pitch diameter than standard taps. They are used to make threads in a hole before a coating or treatment is applied to the hole. Once the coating or treatment is applied, the threads will be reduced to the standard pitch diameter. The black-oxide finish on these taps retains lubricants to improve the taps' wear resistance and chip flow. Black-oxide taps should only be used on ferrous metals. Coolant-through taps have holes that allow coolant to flow to their tip to reduce heat and friction during threading tasks. These taps meet DIN length standards and have a longer overall length than taps that meet ISO, ANSI, and JIS length standards. They also meet ANSI shank standards, which means they measure their shank diameter in inches and fit in standard tools used in the U.S.
