High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Cast Iron
These high-performance spiral-flute taps are made from carbide and provide better precision and accuracy than general purpose spiral-flute taps when used for threading holes in cast iron. They also are harder and more wear-resistant than general purpose spiral-flute taps. Carbide taps require a rigid setup because they are brittle. These taps have spiral flutes that pull chips out and away from the hole as the tap moves into the hole to create threads, which helps prevent chips from packing in the hole. They create internal threads in blind holes and are installed into a toolholder on a machine such as a lathe or CNC machine to operate.
