Nut Taps

Nut taps create internal threads on nuts. They each have a long, slender shank, and nuts slide onto the shank after they are threaded. When no more nuts can fit onto the shank, the tap is removed from the machine and the nuts are slid off the tap.

Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Nut Taps
The black-oxide finish on these taps retains lubricants to improve the taps' wear resistance and chip flow. Black-oxide taps should only be used on ferrous metals. High-performance taps are harder and more wear-resistant than high-speed steel taps. They provide good precision and accuracy in threading tasks.
