Order LookupCarbide Straight-Flute Machine Taps
Available37 products
Carbide straight-flute taps are harder than high-speed steel, cobalt, and powdered-metal straight-flute taps. They provide excellent heat resistance and can be used for tapping hard materials at high speeds. Straight-flute taps are used to create or repair internal threads in blind holes and through holes. As the taps are rotated into a hole to create threads, the chips move into the flutes but are not evacuated. Carbide straight-flute taps are installed into a toolholder on a machine for machine tapping applications.

Diamond-Coated DIN/ANSI Carbide Straight-Flute Taps
The diamond coating on these taps provides excellent hardness and protects the taps from wear when threading abrasive materials. These taps meet DIN length standards and have a longer overall length than taps that meet ISO, ANSI, and JIS length standards. They also meet ANSI shank standards, which means they measure their shank diameter in inches and fit in standard tools used in the U.S.
