High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Available15 products
These high-performance spiral-flute taps can be used for threading multiple materials. They are harder and more wear-resistant than general purpose spiral-flute taps, and they provide better precision and accuracy than general purpose taps. The taps have spiral flutes that pull chips out and away from the hole as the tap moves into the hole to create threads, which helps prevent chips from packing in the hole. They create internal threads in blind holes and are installed into a toolholder on a machine such as a lathe or CNC machine to operate.

UN Coarse Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

UN Coarse Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
UN coarse (UNC) taps have fewer threads per inch than UN fine (UNF) taps. Compared to UNF taps, UNC taps perform better in threading applications on brittle materials and are less likely to cross thread. Coarse threads can also withstand more physical abuse than fine threads. The black-oxide finish on these taps retains lubricants to improve the taps' wear resistance and chip flow. Black-oxide taps should only be used on ferrous metals.

Metric Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Metric Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
These taps come in standard sizes expressed in millimeters. The black-oxide finish on these taps retains lubricants to improve the taps' wear resistance and chip flow. Black-oxide taps should only be used on ferrous metals.

TiCN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiCN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiCN coating on these taps protects them from wear and is harder and more wear-resistant than a TiN coating.

TiN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiN coating on these taps protects them from wear and allows them to be used at higher speeds than taps with a bright finish.

TiN-Coated Coolant-Through DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiN-Coated Coolant-Through DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiN coating on these taps protects them from wear and allows them to be used at higher speeds than taps with a bright finish. Coolant-through taps have holes that allow coolant to flow to their tip to reduce heat and friction during threading tasks. These taps meet DIN length standards and have a longer overall length than taps that meet ISO, ANSI, and JIS length standards. They also meet ANSI shank standards, which means they measure their shank diameter in inches and fit in standard tools used in the U.S.
