High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Available54 products
These high-performance spiral-flute taps can be used for threading multiple materials. They are harder and more wear-resistant than general purpose spiral-flute taps, and they provide better precision and accuracy than general purpose taps. The taps have spiral flutes that pull chips out and away from the hole as the tap moves into the hole to create threads, which helps prevent chips from packing in the hole. They create internal threads in blind holes and are installed into a toolholder on a machine such as a lathe or CNC machine to operate.

Metric Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Metric Black-Oxide Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
These taps come in standard sizes expressed in millimeters. The black-oxide finish on these taps retains lubricants to improve the taps' wear resistance and chip flow. Black-oxide taps should only be used on ferrous metals.

TiCN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiCN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiCN coating on these taps protects them from wear and is harder and more wear-resistant than a TiN coating.

Black-Oxide Finish DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Black-Oxide Finish DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The black-oxide finish on these taps retains lubricants to improve the taps' wear resistance and chip flow. Black-oxide taps should only be used on ferrous metals. These taps meet DIN length standards and have a longer overall length than taps that meet ISO, ANSI, and JIS length standards. They also meet ANSI shank standards, which means they measure their shank diameter in inches and fit in standard tools used in the U.S.

TiN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiN coating on these taps protects them from wear and allows them to be used at higher speeds than taps with a bright finish.

TiAlN-Coated DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiAlN-Coated DIN/ANSI High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiAlN coating on these taps withstands high temperatures and protects the taps from wear. It allows the taps to be used at faster speeds than taps with a bright finish, and it resists cracks and oxidation better than TiN or TiCN coatings. These taps meet DIN length standards and have a longer overall length than taps that meet ISO, ANSI, and JIS length standards. They also meet ANSI shank standards, which means they measure their shank diameter in inches and fit in standard tools used in the U.S.

Metric Bright Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Metric Bright Finish High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
These taps come in standard sizes expressed in millimeters. The bright finish on these taps provides a smooth, polished surface.

THL-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

THL-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The THL coating on these taps protects them from wear and provides better chip formation than TiN and TiCN coatings. THL-coated taps are suitable for threading high-speed steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys, and they can be used with or without coolant.

TiAlN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiAlN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiAlN coating on these taps withstands high temperatures and protects the taps from wear. It allows the taps to be used at faster speeds than taps with a bright finish, and it resists cracks and oxidation better than TiN or TiCN coatings.

Oversized TiCN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Oversized TiCN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
Oversized taps have a slightly larger pitch diameter than standard taps. They are used to make threads in a hole before a coating or treatment is applied to the hole. Once the coating or treatment is applied, the threads will be reduced to the standard pitch diameter. The TiCN coating on these taps protects them from wear and is harder and more wear-resistant than a TiN coating.

THL-Coated Coolant-Through High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

THL-Coated Coolant-Through High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The THL coating on these taps protects them from wear and provides better chip formation than TiN and TiCN coatings. THL-coated taps are suitable for threading high-speed steel, cast iron, and aluminum alloys, and they can be used with or without coolant. Coolant-through taps have holes that allow coolant to flow to their tip to reduce heat and friction during threading tasks.

CrN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

CrN-Coated High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The CrN coating on these taps protects them from wear and is more heat-resistant than a TiN coating.

Bright Finish Coolant-Through High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

Bright Finish Coolant-Through High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The bright finish on these taps provides a smooth, polished surface. Coolant-through taps have holes that allow coolant to flow to their tip to reduce heat and friction during threading tasks.

TiN-Coated Coolant-Through High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials

TiN-Coated Coolant-Through High-Performance Spiral-Flute Taps for Multiple Materials
The TiN coating on these taps protects them from wear and allows them to be used at higher speeds than taps with a bright finish. Coolant-through taps have holes that allow coolant to flow to their tip to reduce heat and friction during threading tasks.
