Snap Gauges

Available10 products
Snap gauges are measurement tools used to gage the diameter or thickness of a part or material. They typically have a C-shaped frame with either a permanently fixed or adjustable opening that is used to determine if the outside dimensions of a part matches a preset dimension or falls within predefined tolerances. They are commonly used in construction, engineering, and in light and heavy manufacturing.

Adjustable-Limit Snap Gauges

Adjustable-Limit Snap Gauges
These adjustable snap gauges have a C-shaped frame with two adjustable measuring faces on one side of the C and a single flat anvil on the other side of the C. These gauges are used to provide Go/No-Go test: the measuring face is adjusted and if the workpiece does not fit into the gap between the C, it is a No-Go and needs to be reworked. Machinists do not need to purchase an extra dial or electronic indicator. Rather than taking a direct measurement, users can simply adjust the gauge and use the Go/No-Go testing logic. These gauges are commonly used in light and heavy manufacturing and machining applications and for QA environments in mid- or post-production.

Indicating Snap Gauges - Indicator Included

Indicating Snap Gauges - Indicator Included
These indicating snap gauges are used to determine the thickness of a workpiece and come with the gauge included. They have a digital or dial gauge and plunger combined with the gauge mechanism that provides a direct thickness reading of a workpiece. The gauge consists of two anvils: one is set and locked while the other is adjusted and the reading is reflected on the indicator. These gauges are especially useful for measuring round and precision ground pieces where the workpiece can be rotated within the gauge.

Indicating Snap Gauges - Indicator Not Included

Indicating Snap Gauges - Indicator Not Included
These indicating snap gauges are used to determine the thickness of a workpiece but do not come with the gauge. These gauges use a dial or digital plunger combined with a gauge mechanism to provide a direct thickness reading of a workpiece. The gauge consists of two anvils: one is set and locked while the other is adjusted and the reading is reflected on the indicator. These gauges are especially useful for measuring round and precision ground pieces where the workpiece can be rotated within the gauge.
