Digital & Mechanical Protractors

Available19 products
Digital and mechanical protractors measure angles, inches, and bevels. Mechanical versions can be read manually with a vernier scale. Digital versions show measurements on a LCD display. Miter protractors are mechanical with two arms or wings that extend from a central hub that is graduated with angles and fractions of angles. A central dial points to the reading as the two arms are aligned with the surfaces being measured. Miter protractors can also transfer angle readings directly to a miter saw. Bevel protractors are used to check angles on machines or parts with a high degree of accuracy. They have a beam or base that is stationary and an adjustable arm or blade that rotates 360° with a locking mechanism that keeps measurements in place. Digital protractors and angle finders show readings on a LCD display. Protractors are commonly used in carpentry, molding, metalworking, plumbing, and general MRO applications.

Digital Protractors

Digital Protractors
Digital protractors are compact measuring devices that have an LCD screen that shows measurements and has built-in electronic functions like data hold and absolute positioning. With the LCD, there is no need to do visual reading on a standard or vernier scale. These protractors resemble digital levels and are commonly used in metalworking, machining, and light and heavy manufacturing applications.

Manual-Reading Protractors

Manual-Reading Protractors
These manual-reading protractors resemble basic school-style protractors. They have a square or round head with a 180° arc marked on the body. Select models include a blade that may be etched with graduations, while others may require a rule or straight edge to read accurately. These protractors are commonly used for woodworking and metalworking applications.

Bevel Protractors

Bevel Protractors
These bevel protractors check angles on machines or parts. They have a stationary beam or base that serves as a flat reference with an adjustable and locking arm or blade that rotates 360°. A fine-adjustment dial allows for small adjustments to the blade position to be made for more accurate readings. These protractors are compact, and offer a high degree of accuracy and precision. They are often used in metalworking, machining, and light or heavy manufacturing environments.

Digital Angle Finders

Digital Angle Finders
Digital angle finders verify angles on corners and show measurements on the LCD screen. These angle finders have a rotating arm that pivots, and when the arm makes contact with walls or surfaces, the engraved arrow on the assembly will align with the angle being measured. The digital LCD makes it possible to hold a reading and perform incremental measurements without having to do extra math. They are commonly used for miter cuts and are sometimes called digital miter protractors.
